Every year, Normandy celebrates its new-found freedom with spectacular fireworks displays. In 2025, to mark the 81st anniversary of the D-Day landings, the region is offering a series of fireworks events not to be missed. 1. Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer - 7 June 2025
As part of the D-Day commemorations, fireworks will be set off in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer. This emblematic town in the Omaha sector will be paying tribute to the liberators with a light show on the seafront.
2. Vierville-sur-Mer - 7 June 2025
The same evening, Vierville-sur-Mer will be hosting a concert picnic on the beach, followed by a fireworks display. A friendly, festive atmosphere ideal for sharing with family and friends.
3. Sainte-Mère-Église - 7 June 2025
Sainte-Mère-Église, famous for its parachutist who hangs from the church, will close its commemorations on 7 June with a colourful and emotional fireworks display.
4. Courseulles-sur-Mer - 14 July 2025
For the Fête Nationale, Courseulles-sur-Mer will be aglow with fireworks from the beach. The day will be punctuated by concerts and entertainment for all the family.
5. Bernières-sur-Mer - 14 July 2025
Another emblematic coastal village, Bernières-sur-Mer, will also be hosting a fireworks display on the evening of 14 July. Entertainment, music and conviviality will be the order of the day.
